What we do.

mission Statement

Alongside the production of the feature documentary, Twenty Miles More seeks to produce research and high-quality content on the complex relationship between human-displacement, conflict, and our natural environment.

Short term goals

First, only a year since the end of principal photography, we are excited to announce that our documentary on the migrant reception crisis at the southern French-Italian border will be launching this Fall. Click here for more information.

Second, Twenty Miles More will be reporting from a Doctors Without Borders search and rescue mission aboard the Geo Barents in the Mediterranean. The mission will leave from Italy and travel to an area off the coast of Libya. Our goal is to create high-quality content that will draw further attention to the ongoing migrant reception crisis, as well as investigate how water insecurity - driven in part by human-caused climate change - has influenced displacement. Third, this summer in partnership with Circle of Blue, we will be adding an audio series on the intersection of conflict and climate change, as well as articles and testimonies to our content library. In addition to this we will be launching a monthly newsletter for those subscribed. Click here for more information.

Fourth, we are working with Aquascope to model and monitor natural fresh water sources that are vital to informal migrant settlements in Europe. Our modelling has started with the Roya River that provides water to migrants in Ventimiglia. Click here for more information.
